Probate is the legal process to prove that a will is valid and can be acted upon. A Grant of Representation (called a Grant of Probate if there is a will) is the document issued as evidence that the process has been completed and the deceased’s estate can be dealt with.

This process and the subsequent administration of the estate is carried out by the deceased’s Personal Representatives. If the deceased leaves a valid will these Personal Representatives are known as Executors. In all other cases they are known as Administrators.

The Personal Representatives have a duty to

  • dispose of the body of the deceased
  • collect in and administer the deceased’s property
  • deal with any tax implications

If you have been appointed an Executor under a will or if you are an Administrator, we can deal on your behalf with the necessary paperwork and administer the estate quickly, efficiently and cost effectively so you do not have to worry.

If this firm has been appointed Executor under the terms of a will, then we will deal with all aspects of the administration.
